The Connector (Archetype)
The Connector archetype describes advisors whose superpower is introductions and access — they know people across companies, functions, and communities, and willingly bridge you into conversations you could not reach alone. Connectors multiply your network's reach without replacing the need for deep expertise elsewhere on your board.
Effective Connectors are selective: they protect their reputation by only making warm, well-framed intros. Your job is to make them successful — crisp blurb, clear ask, fast follow-up, and gratitude that closes the loop. Misuse (spammy asks, wasted intros) burns the relationship quickly.
Every personal board needs at least one Connector when growth depends on who you know — fundraising, job search, partnership development, or entering a new market. Pair Connectors with Sages so you have both doors and judgment about which doors to walk through.
